It was a significant and spectacular milestone in the implementation process of the new biomass fired boiler of the PANNONPOWER: in the recent days the boiler of the power plant has been fired with straw-bales. With the start up of the automatic logistic system supplying the herb-bales of agriculture by-products for the boiler a successful commissioning period of the most complicated part of the equipment of the new power plant at Pécs was passed. The commissioning is still in progress in order to make possible the trial run as soon as possible after successful trial of different devices and their fine tuning.

The best five teams of the PANNONPOWER and PÉTÁV Green Energy Quiz met on Friday afternoon to decide which of them know the most about the utilization of green energy resources. The prize winner was became the team of students of the Szent Mór High School Centre.
Nearly one and a half thousand fans wearing green dress were present at the match between the basketball man’s teams of PVSK-PANNONPOWER and Körmend that was won by the PVSK-PANNONPOWER. However, the match remains memorable not only due to fourth success of the season.

The Commission of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences of Pécs has organized lately a conference about the experiences and options of renewable communal heating. The objective of the conference was to answer the most important questions related to state-of-the-art communal heating based on bio-energy.
The Rainbow Children’s House has received a new interactive information and play wall, as our Company Group has recently presented the children with a so-called Energy Wall. The wall displays not only power plants generating electricity for the Hungarian market indicating fuel type and capacity, it also shows the process of biomass fuelled energy production as well as the operation of the biomass fired boilers of the Power Plant of Pécs. The wall is complete with an energy saving game.
